How the eJukebox jukebox works in your venue
eJukebox is a managed music system: a compact player at your venue (or a private stream on Solo), run by your staff from their phones, with customers requesting songs from theirs. No jukebox cabinet required.
- Digital jukebox - set it and forget it, no DJ needed.
- Song requests - customers request songs from their phone, by QR code or the eJukebox Request app.
- eJukebox Admin app - skip, hold and reorder requests, and switch channels from behind the bar.
Music licensing for medical & waiting rooms
Australian venues need a OneMusic Australia licence to play recorded music in public, and that licence stays in your name. Because eJukebox is a commercial background music supplier, it changes what OneMusic charges you compared with a personal streaming account: shops and service businesses come off the top tier, and hospitality venues drop the Digital Copy and Delivery add-on. Waiting room music questions, answered
Does a medical practice need a music licence?
Yes. Any business playing music where patients or staff can hear it needs its own OneMusic licence, held in the practice's name and paid separately from your music supplier. How music licensing works.
Can we just play Spotify, Apple Music or the radio?
A personal streaming account like Spotify or Apple Music can't be used - it is licensed for personal use only. Commercial radio brings ads and talk into your waiting room; eJukebox channels have neither, and nothing with explicit lyrics.
Is the music suitable for a waiting room?
Yes. Gentle, professionally curated channels that ease nerves, family-friendly and volume-levelled, so nothing jumps out over a quiet room.
Does the front desk have to manage it?
No. It runs on its own all day, so reception never has to think about it.
Can we play our own messages?
