How the eJukebox jukebox works in your venue
eJukebox is a managed music system: a compact player at your venue (or a private stream on Solo), run by your staff from their phones, with customers requesting songs from theirs. No jukebox cabinet required.
- Digital jukebox - set it and forget it, no DJ needed.
- Song requests - customers request songs from their phone, by QR code or the eJukebox Request app.
- eJukebox Admin app - skip, hold and reorder requests, and switch channels from behind the bar.
Music licensing for cafés & coffee shops
Australian venues need a OneMusic Australia licence to play recorded music in public, and that licence stays in your name. Because eJukebox is a commercial background music supplier, it changes what OneMusic charges you compared with a personal streaming account: shops and service businesses come off the top tier, and hospitality venues drop the Digital Copy and Delivery add-on. Café music questions, answered
Can I play Spotify or Apple Music in my café?
No. Personal streaming accounts like Spotify and Apple Music are for personal use only, and their terms rule out playing them in a business. eJukebox is licensed for business use, and moving off personal streaming removes the Digital Copy/Delivery fee that personal streaming adds to a café's OneMusic licence.
What does café music cost?
Solo is $49 a month ex GST: one curated channel for one area, streamed to a device you already own, with nothing to install. If you want customers requesting songs, or different music inside and out, Core is $169 a month ex GST. See plans & pricing.
Will the music suit a quiet morning and a busy lunch?
Yes. The music changes with the time of day on its own - gentle for the morning coffee crowd, more upbeat through the lunch rush - so nobody has to remember to change it.
Do I need new speakers or equipment?
No. Solo plays through a computer, tablet, phone, Sonos or streamer you already have, into your existing speakers. Core adds a compact player that connects to your amplifier and keeps playing if the internet drops.
Do I still need a OneMusic licence?
Yes. Every café playing music in public holds its own OneMusic licence, whoever supplies the music, and eJukebox's fee does not include it. How music licensing works.
