What does a background music provider do?
A background music provider supplies the music a business plays to its customers, programmed for the room and cleared for public play. It is a different thing from a streaming app. You get channels built for trading hours rather than personal listening: no ads, no talk between songs, no explicit lyrics, and volume levelled so one track never jumps out over the last.

Can I just play Spotify in my business?
No. Personal Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music accounts are for personal listening, and their own terms rule out playing them in a business. A OneMusic licence does not fix that, because the problem is the account, not the licence.
It also costs you more. OneMusic puts a business playing a personal streaming account on its most expensive package. A commercial provider is how you get off it.
Do I still need a OneMusic licence?
Yes. Any Australian business playing recorded music where customers can hear it needs a OneMusic Australia licence, held in your own business name, whichever provider you choose. What the provider changes is the price of that licence.
- Shops, salons and clinics move from the Gold package to the cheaper Silver or Silver Lite tier. For a small shop up to 50 m², that is about $642 a year down to $183.
- Pubs, cafés and restaurants no longer need the Digital Copy and Delivery add-on, which is $471 a year.
- Pubs and clubs can have eJukebox collect the OneMusic fee and pay it to OneMusic for them.

What equipment do I need for background music?
On Solo, nothing new. Your private stream plays through a browser, computer, tablet, phone, Sonos or streamer you already own. Core and Complete add a compact on-site player that connects to your existing amplifier and speakers, a one-off cost quoted per venue. There is no jukebox cabinet or proprietary box to buy.
Can I play different music in different areas?
Yes. Core and Complete include two zones as standard, so the front bar and the bistro, or the shop floor and the fitting rooms, can each run a different channel at the same time. You can add up to four zones on the same player.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. There are no lock-in contracts and you can cancel anytime.
Can I try eJukebox before I sign up?
Yes, in two ways. The 7-day trial is streaming only, set up yourself in a couple of minutes with no credit card. The 30-day trial is the full interactive system installed in your venue on Core or Complete, with hardware and setup covered.
Do you supply music to businesses with more than one site?
